hello,
I have constructed a correlation matrix of a one wave data and a panel data set to examine the same thing. My one wave dataset consists of 158 observations, while my panel dataset consists of 850 observations spanning a time frame of 5 years. However, in the panel dataset, the correlations between my dependent and independent variables is a lot smaller than in my one wave dataset (for example 0.05 vs 0.3). I was wondering if there is a statistical explanation for this or whether this is coincedence.
Kind regards,
Timea
