Hi
I am trying to look at the determinants of finishing in the academic track conditional on choosing the academic track at the start of high school (So my outcome variable is binary= Academic and Non-Academic at the end of high school) and I am only looking at the population of students who entered in the academic track at the beginning of high school. I want to look at how this probability is affected by various factors (students specific; teacher-specific etc).
What should be the appropriate model to use here? Can I use the logit model? I am getting a bit confused because I thought the logit model can be used only when the outcome variable is a 'choice'
Please help!
Thanks
Dhruv
