Hi all,

Since I am relatively new to Stata, I ran into a problem with my data. Variable DealValue is a variable with numeric and string values, so it is colored red and Stata won't let me do anything with it so I tried to destring it into numeric values. As you can see in the attached photo, I also need the values with a * in it in the new variable. Could you explain to me how to do this?
