Dear Statalisters.

I am working with two different panal datasets which I want to merge. Unfortunately there are differences in certain country names. Both are coming from two different online datasets. However, for one dataset I cannot use the kountry code option to change the names. Meaning that if I merge them now i lose certain countries. Therefore my question; how can I change the name of certain countries in the dataset? For instance in one dataset the country name is: China and in the second one the country name is: China, P.R.: Mainland
