These questions are part of a project I'm working on.I'm pretty new to Stata,so would appreciate detailed feedback.
I have two cohorts for context.
Split each cohort between the following 4 groups using the education variable (acgrd_6); -
high school drop-outs (those who have obtained 11 years of schooling or less),
- high school graduates (those who have obtained exactly 12 years of schooling),
- college participants (those who have between 13 and 15 years of schooling),
- 4-year college graduates (16 or more).
Find the frequencies for each group and in each cohort.
Estimate a multinomial Logit model of education choices on each cohort separately using the 4 choices defined in Q2 using high school dropouts as the reference group. On which cohort is the marginal effect of family income on the probability of graduating from a 4 year college the largest?
Q2 is what I posted above. How do I go about the reference group thing? How do I calculate the marginal effect.
Would really appreciate the help,as I am entirely new to this software.
