Hi,
I have over 200K items with individual latitude longitude coordinates, most in the UK.
Ultimately my goal is to match each of these items with data on regional gross disposable household income (at the lowest geographical resolution possible) and use it as a proxy for economic status of the households in my dataset.
Since I don't really need graphic representation of the data, instead of using ArcGIS I thought I might try Stata geoinpoly to match each location to its UK local authority and subsequent economic indicators.
I have downloaded the local authority areas from:
http://geoportal.statistics.gov.uk/d...0991cbddda50_0
But I can't even seem to get past the shp2file part...
Basically it is telling me it can't find the shape file, though its all there.
I read there was an issue with UK base data, but not sure this is relevant in my case.
would appreciate any help in sorting this out.
Thanks,
Tamar
