Hi,
I am currently trying to learn synthetic control method as developed by Abadie, Diamond and Hainmueller (2010). I have installed "synth" command along with other plugin files in Stata 14 (64-bit). To gain familiarity with the command, I am using the smoking dataset to measure the impact of tobacco control program on cigarette sales as done in the original paper. However, when I run the command I get the following error:
"Could not load plugin: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stata14\ado\base\s\synthopt.plugin
(error occurred while loading synth.ado)
r(9999);
I am unable to fix this glitch. Any help to fix this would be much appreciated.
