Hi, I have previosly worked with the "spmap" command, so Im familiar with it. But now im trying to do something that is a more advanced, Im trying to combine 2 shapefiles and I dont know if that is possible.
The Colombian shapefile that I have from a goverment source doesnt show the San Andrés y Providencia department (is like a state) properly so when I map something like lets say the unemployment rate it doesnt show correctly due to how small it is shown in the map .

So there are 2 options here, either there is a way to scale the polygon of San Andrés y Providencia and make it a little bigger to properly show what im trying to map, or there is way to combine 2 shapefiles (the one above but without San Andrés y Providencia) and one of San Andrés that I found in from the same government source.

The only problem with this shapefile is that I dont know why the 2 islands are so far away from each other when I map the shapefile.
I have tried to add the coordinates database from the shapefile of San Andrés to the shapefile of Colombia (replacing the ones from the tiny San Andrés) but I always get an black map when I try to map the resulting database.
So if anyone could help me or point me in the right way, I'll be very greatful.
