I want to identify discrete personality profiles for parenting styles.
For example: I have 5 personality trait variables and a variety of parenting variables regarding discipline practices. Once I identify the personality classes using LCA (previous research suggests I will find 3 to 5 discrete classes) I will the classes as covariates to explore differences in how parents administer discipline to children.
I have never used structural modeling for class analysis. My questions are:
- Are there differences in Stata 15 vs 16 in doing LCA?
- If so, is it worth upgrading to 16 primarily for doing LCA?
- Does a basic (with command examples) tutorial exist for LCA with Stata? -- Good materials I've located so far use Mplus examples (which I don't use).
As always, I appreciate your advice.
