Suppose, I have a model like, -ASSET SALES =a*x1+b*CASH FLOWS. Kindly note the sign of dependent variable is negative. What I mean is that reduction of asset sales(hence -ve) can contribute to cash flows. Now, for asset sales, they are in USD (hence +ve). Can I convert these dollar amounts for the assets sales into negative figures and proceed with the negative figures as my dependent variable?.
