how can I create a distinct variable and using that variable to entire data set, example
Fund 1--2009
Fund 1--2000
Fund 2--2012
Fund 2--2013
I would like to create a variable based on above which displays Fund 1- occurance 1and use that variable to run on entire data set to perform avg , std dev etc
