Hi there,
I'm trying to update the IMF working paper on Redistribution, Inequality and Growth (2018).
The growth literature tends to use system GMM to control for endogeneity and OVB.
The paper has published their .do file and .dta file. When I run the do file, I get the same output as in the paper. I have updated the data in Excel and imported it into Stata When I run the same .do file (correcting for any changes in variable names), I get the error:
"estimates post: matrix has missing values error"
I thought my data was at fault, but I have since discovered that I get the same error when I export their .dta into excel and then reimport it into Stata and run the .do file. I don't do anything to their original .dta file, other than export and then import. I use xtset country time, run the xtabond2 code and get the same error.
Is there someone who could advise on how to proceed. The .do file is attached or can be found here: https://link.springer.com/article/10...entaryMaterial under supplementary material.
Kind regards,
Sam
