In a prospective study with 336 patients, I have a variable "number_of_events_since_operation". It contains information (a numerical value) on have many events each patient has experienced (range 0-25). Is it possible to count the total number of events for the whole group? (i.e. adding the number of events from each patient)? As you can see, 21 patients experienced one event, 33 patients experienced two events, etc.
I'm aware that I can calculate by hand, but I guess there must be a STATA command for this purpose.
Thanks,
Therese
