Dear all,
I have this type of Stata dataset where I want to create some observations splitting the already existing observation.
dist | TA_mphc | ta_ta | Total | aLess_1 | a1_4 |
Lilongwe City | Area 12 | Area 12 | 1209 | 18 | 71 |
Lilongwe City | Area 13 | Area 13 | 8717 | 146 | 540 |
Lilongwe City | Area 14/Area 32 | Area 14 | 8180 | 800 | 560 |
I want to split the TA_mphc = "Area 14/Area 32 " into two: Area 14 and Area 32 separately so that these two observations should have "halves" the values of the rest of the variables (Total, aLess_1 and a1_4) as shown below in red color.
dist | TA_mphc | ta_ta | Total | aLess_1 | a1_4 |
Lilongwe City | Area 12 | Area 12 | 1209 | 18 | 71 |
Lilongwe City | Area 13 | Area 13 | 8717 | 146 | 540 |
Lilongwe City | Area 14/Area 32 | Area 14 | 8180 | 800 | 560 |
Lilongwe City | Area 14/Area 32 | Area 14 | 4090 | 400 | 280 |
Lilongwe City | Area 14/Area 32 | Area 32 | 4090 | 400 | 280 |
Kindly help.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Peter
