Hi All, I am a beginner STATA user and I need help to solve the challenge I face:
I have an example of the following multi-response question that includes 15 options. Here is the brief to clarify the situation:
1. the origin options were 11 options, from q11_1_1 to q11_1_11. please note that q11_1_10 is "other" option, where the user can select and enter anything in narrative and q11_1_11 is "not documented" option, so if "not documented" was ticked then the other options can't be ticked.
2. during the analysis, it was recommended to add 4 new options represent by q11_1_12 to q11_1_15 and I filled them already with (Yes, No) values.
3. q11 variable summarizes the ticked options. EX. the first respondent chose four "Yes", then the value in q11 should be from the left to the right corresponding to the options' order: 135D
the challenges are:
1. I want to give the following symbols to the newly added options as follows:
q11_1_12: C q11_1_13: D q11_1_14: E q11_1_12: F >>>>> So these letters can appear in q11 when they are ticked
2. if you have a look at the second respondent, you can observe four "Yes". The q11 value should be: 18AD, but "A" is the only value appeared in q11
Array
Thank you
