A reviewer of my paper ask me the following question . The paper is about a model to predict complications in liver cirrhosis.
Question : AIC and BIC values - these needs explaining for the reader to understand how well the model performs with specific metrics rather than statements such as "lower values indicate a better fit" - how can the reader judge what is a low value?
Any help to reply to this , i can not find any clear and plausible explanation in the literature besides numbers and formulas for the reply
Many thanks
