Greetings:
Occasionally, I need to do an analysis that could benefit from a large machine and the obvious solution would be to rent a server from a cloud provider. I own multiple licenses to MP 8-core edition so the license in itself is not an issue. The issue is that I want to delete the cloud machine as soon as I am done. This deletion means that I would create a new server each time, reinstall Stata, and activate the Stata license.
My question is: would this frequent activation of the license create a problem for me, e.g., locking out the license for suspected overuse? If yes, is there a way to release the license before I delete the server?
I would be grateful to people who have had a similar use-case, share their experience. Also, it would be really beneficial if someone from Stata can provide an authoritative answer on this licensing issue.
Regards,
Zia
