Hello all, first post and very new to STATA!

I would appreciate some help with renaming observations in the same dataset. i.e. Var 1

Var1 Var 2
Alpha Team 750
Alpha 750
Alpha Team Inc 750
Alpha Alpha Team Inc 750
Beta Team 550
Bet Team 550
Beta Team Inc 550

I'm trying to rename the observations so they are uniform i.e. all Alpha Team or Beta Team respectively.
Any advise is appreciated! I have tried using matchit by duplicating the varlist but error message 'weights not allowed' popped up.
