Hi
I am running an ologit model to understand the effect of parents' beliefs on students' high school track choice.
My dependent variable is - chosen2 which is the field chosen in high school (Academic; Middle; Vocational)
My independent variables are
(i) IQ- continuous; standardized; test conducted before the start of high school
(ii) Parents education (opl)- 1= no education; 2=high school; 3=higher education
(iii) (beliefpar_HS_E) Parents belief about child's high school outcome (what track/degree will the child finish high school with)- 4= Academic; 3=Middle; 2=Vocational; 1=No Degree/Drop out
(iv) (belief_child_lj1b_HS_E) Students' belief about her high school outcome- 4= Academic; 3=Middle; 2=Vocational; 1=No Degree/Drop out
My question- I am running the following regression
ologit chosen2 IQ i.opl i.beliefpar_HS_E i.belief_child_lj1b_HS_E
ologit chosen2 IQ i.opl i.beliefpar_HS_E i.belief_child_lj1b_HS_E, or
I don't know how to interpret the coefficients in a setup with more than one categories of independent variables.
Can you please provide one or two examples from the attached Stata output?
Thanks
Dhruv
