Attached below is a simple example I have made up so I can fully understand this: Lets say I want to merge a variabel from another dataset to this dataset. This variabel (var3) measures what the apples and oranges cost in US dollars ($). If "var3" can take the value (1) for apples and (2) for oranges what command should I use so the value (1) always is at the same row as "apples" and the value (2) always is at the same row as "oranges"? Hope this make sense.
