Dear Statalist users,
Colleagues and I want to analyse if and how parenthood ideals change over time. We have a (short) longitudinal survey with 8 items capturing parenthood ideals and two waves of data collection. In order to identify parenthood ideals, we conduct latent class analyses (LCA). Currently, we use Stata 14 and the PennState LCA plugin (https://www.methodology.psu.edu/downloads/lcastata/). We would like to conduct a longitudinal LCA or a latent transition analysis to identify stable and unstable parenthood ideals over time and understand change as well as stability. Unfortunately, this is not possible with the PennState plugin.
We asked ourselves if we could conduct these analyses with the newest Stata version. Since we do not yet have access to Stata 16, I read the SEM manual and examples carefully, searched for presentations, articles and forum posts - but still, I am not sure. Could you please help me?
Thank you very much,
Anna
