Hey guys,
I am currently trying to do a regression with panel data from the IPUMS CPS.
I have mostly found all variables of interest but I am not sure because of the control variable.
In my exercise, it says that the control variable contains the following: gender-specific time trends in labor supply, quarterly seasonal dummies and dummy for education workers in the summer months.
For a fixed time and individual effect, fi is non-parametric time trends by work type.
My question is: Are these extra variables I need to add to my dataset or can I code these with my existing variables (age, sex, year, education, children, industry and occupation, race, hours worked last week, employment status)
