Hello,
I'm working with a panel data set covering the climate vulnerability scores for countries over a set of years. One of my categorical variables is region. For each observation, my dataset literally displays the full region name e.g. "East Asia & Pacific". For graphing my descriptive stats, I would like the region names to appear as abbreviations. For example, under the bars chart that shows my mean score for the outcome variable (vulnerability score), the x-axis is jumbled up from the full region names. I would like it to show EAP instead of "East Asia & Pacific. I have region dummy variables that are names after the region abbreviations. This could have been prevented if I replaced the region names with their respective abbreviations in excel, how may I do the same in Stata 17.
