Has anyone had any luck getting Stata 16 to run on CentOS/RHEL 7? It seems like Stata has moved beyond the libc++ versions provided:
> stata
stata: /lib64/libtinfo.so.5: no version information available (required by stata)
stata: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.20' not found (required by stata)
stata: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.8' not found (required by stata)
stata: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `CXXABI_1.3.9' not found (required by stata)
stata: /lib64/libstdc++.so.6: version `GLIBCXX_3.4.21' not found (required by stata)
I realize that RHEL 8 came out in May, but we use enterprise Linux distros for the longevity.
The system requirements merely state:
Stata for Linux
- Any 64-bit (x86-64 or compatible) running Linux
- For xstata, you need to have GTK 2.24 installed
