I am trying to do meta-analysis for correlation coefficient to assess relationship between interleukin-6 and cardiovascular risk
I have the following data
id | country | type of study | journal name | journal year | IL6 concentration (mean) | n | p value | r | lower | higher |
a | Poland | cross sectional | cytokine | 2016 | 0.94 | 57 | 0.001 | 0.5 | 0.2753 | 0.6729 |
b | Hong Kong | Prospective cohort | NDT | 2009 | 5.20 | 231 | 0.002 | 0.204 | 0.0769 | 0.3245 |
c | POLAND | cross sectional | international journal of artificial organs | 2003 | 5.57 | 43 | 0.05 | 0.32 | 0.0217 | 0.566 |
lower = lower limit of confidence interval
higher=higher limit of confidence interval
I have used the follwoing syntax to assess association:
metan r lower higher.
It did show that IL-6 is associated with cardiovascular risk.
My question is : I need to prove exposure response relationship.
Can I use the means of IL-6 and correlation coeeficient to try to prove that with increased mean of IL-6 , the risk of cardiovascular risk increase?
How can I do that?
Looking forward to hear back from you
