I have two column variables j8 and j9 and they complement each other. j8 is asking if they plan and j9 says, if they didn't, did their spouse. For the purposes of my study, it doesn't matter if they or spouse planned. In other words, if j8=yes and j9=1. So how do I combine them as they are related? I want to keep yes (j8) and 1 (j9) and j9 still needs to destring. See attached for more clarification. Have been struggling on this trivia piece. I don't want to accidentally remove respondents if I did something wrong. Thank you so much! Array
