Hello, every statalist,
I have an urgent issue now. I am using Stata/SE 14.0 and was editing my stata file and I am sure that I saved my file as I did thousands times before. But now, I cannot open it. The message shows that my file is not stata format. I have never used any other version or OS to edit my file.
And I tried some code from the forum, like type filename.dta, which gave the results as infinite dots.
I also tried hexdump filename.dta, and the results shows 000 000 000 000 for hex representation and dots for character representation in the results table. Could anyone help? It is hand collected data, so it is quite important.
Best Regards,
Bing
