One of our reviewers ask us to conduct robustness checks by using ANOVA to estimate variance components for a simple three factor model with main effect only, e.g., " anova Y X1 X2 X3 ". I am rusty with ANOVA and wonder if anyone could kindly provide the formulas for estimating variance components for terms X1, X2, and X3? I found an old article (Marchenko, 2006), but it provides formulas for a different model. Thank you so much in advance.
Best,
Richard
