Hello, I am converting US 1990 census occupation codes to SEI. I was wondering if anyone could share his/her Stata syntax. Hauser and Warren (1997) paper has detailed information on how to convert 1990 census occupation codes to SEI, but there are hundreds of occupation codes and may take forever to convert one by one. I was wondering if anyone has done this job or know any current Stata syntax that could do the work. I will much appreciate it if you could share or give me some guidance. Thank you!
