Dear all,
For my Master thesis on economic inequality, I am using panel data. For each year, household weight files are provided together with the panel data. The weights are "sample weights" and are meant to improve the representativeness of the panel. The weights are based on income and homeownership.
I have read into Stata's help on how to use weight files. However, I do not fully understand the information provided there. I think it would be best to use "aweight", but I am curious to hear if this would be a correct choice.
Analyses I am planning to conduct are: constructing median household wealth values, calculating Gini coefficients with the ineqdec0 routine and a quantile regression.
With regard to the latter, I am wondering if it's possible to use weight files.
Best,
Den
