I am working on a small research assignment and trying to identify drivers of the corruption index and the rule of law index.
I included several variables which could have an impact on those indices and run two parallel OLS regressions (one for each index).
Now I am a bit confused when interpreting the coefficients exactly. I see their significance and their size but how big is the effect?
CPI2019 | |||
StartBusiness (days) | -0.21 | ||
(0.12) | |||
logPopulation | 2.43 | ||
(1.24) | |||
logMigrant | -1.13 | ||
(2.01) | |||
ExpEduc | 10.05** | ||
(03.74) | |||
So the Corruption Index goes from 0 to 100, 100 beeing not corrupt at all.
Start Business is the time required to start a business in days for example. How do I interpret the -0.21? How the 2.43 from the log of Population?
Can I say one day increase in starting a business lowers the corruption value by 0.21 points??
Thank you very much!
