I am a doctoral student. My major is applied econonmics. My main job is to analyze agricultural problems with econometrics, but I don't like it.I do use stata a lot in my work and I like writing code.I think I am good at math and programming,so I want to learn more about it.I want to spend more time on learning other softwares like R,python, matlab and so on,though which I can get more knowledge in majors with good prospects like data analysis ,data mining or machine learning. At the same time, these languages can be used in economics.Am I right?I am confused.
