Hey everyone!
I am investigating the effect that refugees have on rental prices in England. I have panel data between 2014 and 2018 on multiple socioeconomic and demography factors for 108 local authorities in England. I am performing an IV regression where the dependent variable is rent. The control variables are unemployment (unemp), crime rate per 1000 inhabitants (crime), and the number of dwellings per 1000 inhabitants (dwelling). These previously mentioned control variables all have one year lags. The endogenous variable is refugees (ref) and the instrument I'm using is the foreign-born non-EU population, denoted as "iv". I am including local authority dummies and using fixed effects in order to capture different trends in house prices at the local authority level. The model is also estimated using first differences so that time-invariant factors that are specific to each local authority and that affect the level of house prices are differenced out.
I am using the command "ivreghdfe". However, it does not seem to work and STATA always replies with the following message (as can be seen in the attachment to this post:
struct ms_vcvorthog undefined
(817 lines skipped)
(error occurred while loading ivreghdfe.ado)
I am somewhat new to STATA and I am wondering what I am doing wrong and how I could solve this problem.
Any help would be extremly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
