Hi,
I just imported a csv using the import delimited command. It imported with no errors or warnings however when I tried xtset the panelvar had a period in the name and I got the misleading error message "factor-variable and time-series operators not allowed r(101);" I was also unable to rename the variable. Eventually, I just opened the csv in excel changed the name and re-imported the edited file. Everything is fine, but wanted to post to see if there was an option in the import command to deal with this in the future. It also seems like it may be helpful to others.
Regards,
Dustin
