Dear all,
I have two questions relating to the -meta regress- command (Stata 17) and how to use it for cross-national comparative research.
1. I have data from a cross-European household survey (EU-SILC). In a first step, I estimated identically specified models separately for each country (in my case to estimate the relationship of immigration on the Gini coefficient). In a second step, I use the coefficient of immigration as outcome variable and then use - meta regress- to assess the impact of country-level factors on the impact of immigration. Do you know if this a valid way to estimate those effects?
2. Because the number of countries are small (20 countries), I would like to use pooled cross-sections of three years. Can I use the -meta regress- command with the addition of i.year?
I hope my questions are clear. I would be grateful for any recommendation.
Thanks,
Ravenna
